Whenever I try to open zoom up in a window or try to download it, a popup appears saying that I should switch out of S mode or get similar apps in store I’m not sure how to do this, or what it means.

To increase security, it allows only apps from the Microsoft Store and requires Microsoft Edge for safe browsing. To install applications outside of the store app like Zoom, you would need to switch your Windows 10 out of S mode.

You may follow the instruction on the link below under the « How do I switch out of S mode ». But just to set a proper expectation, Switching out of S mode is one-way. If you switch out of S mode, you’ll need to keep using the standard version of Windows 10 and you can no longer switch it back to S mode.
